Udis Granola

We just got the word today that Udi's Granola is one of this month's editor's choices in Gourmet Retailer Magazine.  This magazine calls itself "the leading voice of the gourmet industry", so it's always great to be recognized by your peers.  The editor discovered our product at this past summer's Fancy Food Show in New York City.

It's also great to see a fellow Colorado business reviewed in the column as well.  The editor also liked Epicurean Butter, whose booth was adjacent to ours at the Fancy Food Show.  Each day at the show around lunch time, the folks from Epicurean Butter would prepare a flight of butter tastings for me.  After sampling many of their offerings, I have to agree with the editor of Gourmet Retailer that the Lime Sea Salt is my favorite!

New Ads (Heeb & Elephant)

The most recent Heeb Magazine ad just came out in their latest Hollywood issue.  We actually have changed directions from our last 3 ads and have challenged the bagel as the official breakfast food for Jews.  Our thoughts are that granola should now have that title, see below:

We have also started an ad campaign in The Elephant magazine.  This is a publication out of Boulder, CO that covers the natural health industry.  Here is our ad in that magazine:

New Target: Udi's 3rd HEEB Ad

Hard to believe, but our 3rd HEEB Magazine ad is about to hit the newsstands.  This time it is Ann Coulter who follows Mel Gibson and Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as folks we parody in HEEB Magazine as so-called fans of Udi's Granola.  After her ridiculous comment that Jews are "imperfect" Christians because they don't follow the teachings of the New Testament, we couldn't pass on the opportunity to make fun of her.  We know, Ann Coulter is an easy target, but this comment was so offensive we couldn't let her get away with it.

So, here is a preview of the ad that will appear in the Dec 2007 HEEB Magazine, enjoy:

Food & Wine Blog Story

Today on Food & Wine Magazine's blog called "Mouthing Off", there is a story about Udi's Granola.  This came about when fellow HEEB 100'er and Top Chef judge, Gail Simmons gave some Udi's Granola to Ratha Tep, an Associate Editor with the magazine (see blog post about HEEB 100).  Like most people who try our granola, she loved the "fresh-tasting mix" and commented especially on our honey flavor.

Kudos to Ratha for digging up the fact that we source all our honey from the Colorado Honey Company.  Here are some interesting honey facts for our blog readers:

- In 2007, we'll use 250,000 LBs of Colorado Honey
- That's approximately 15% of all the honey produced in Colorado
- Udi's Granola is the largest single user of Colorado-origin honey
