HEEB 100 & Udi's New Ad

I received some big news this month when I learned that I had been named to HEEB Magazine's HEEB 100 list for 2007.  As the magazine states, "They're young, smart and innovative . . . and oh yeah, they also happen to be Jewish."  It's the magazine's annual "roundup of 100 people you need to know about."

Pretty flattering stuff for this humble granola maker.  Kudos to other HEEB 100'ers like Gail Simmons (Top Chef judge & Food & Wine Editor), Duff Goldman (Charm City Cakes owner), and Darin Bresnitz (Producer of Dinner with the Band).  These are just folks named in the Food category, HEEB also honors folks in fields like media, fashion, film/tv, art, and music.  So, visit the HEEB 100 website to see everyone's profile (I'm in the food section).  Here's the link:

Also, the most recent issue of HEEB Magazine has hit the newsstands with Superbad's Jonah Hill on the cover.  Our latest ad is in the magazine, this time featuring long-time friend of the Jews (note the sarcasm here) - Mel Gibson.  I've inserted a copy of the ad below.

Food & Wine Blog Story

Today on Food & Wine Magazine's blog called "Mouthing Off", there is a story about Udi's Granola.  This came about when fellow HEEB 100'er and Top Chef judge, Gail Simmons gave some Udi's Granola to Ratha Tep, an Associate Editor with the magazine (see blog post about HEEB 100).  Like most people who try our granola, she loved the "fresh-tasting mix" and commented especially on our honey flavor.

Kudos to Ratha for digging up the fact that we source all our honey from the Colorado Honey Company.  Here are some interesting honey facts for our blog readers:

- In 2007, we'll use 250,000 LBs of Colorado Honey
- That's approximately 15% of all the honey produced in Colorado
- Udi's Granola is the largest single user of Colorado-origin honey
